HAUSE FIELD GUIDE · REVIEWED 25 OCTOBER 2026
Ask about relevant experience
Request experience with the actual issue and setting, rather than a broad claim of expertise in every hazard. Ask who will assess the property and who will perform the work. Check the qualifications and insurance relevant to the proposed activities directly with the provider and appropriate authorities.
Request a readable proposal
A useful quote explains the assessment basis, included areas, exclusions, assumptions and completion records. Ask what would trigger a change and whether testing, disposal or building repairs are separate. A fast response to an enquiry does not establish that a proposed method is suitable.
Check practical arrangements
Confirm availability, access, privacy, communication and payment terms. Where subcontractors are involved, ask who remains responsible for the work package and records. Do not assume a national website means a local crew or confirmed appointment exists in every city.
Keep the comparison fair
Use the same room list, contents decisions and known information for each provider. Record unanswered questions beside the totals. HAUSE can receive a project enquiry, but provider availability, suitability, scope and pricing must be confirmed before work is agreed.
The project questions are HAUSE planning prompts. Refer to the responsible authority and qualified provider for requirements that apply to your situation.
