HAUSE FIELD GUIDE · REVIEWED 25 OCTOBER 2026
Start with operational ownership
Identify the facility contact, production owner and safety lead before arranging a visit. Existing operating procedures, chemical information and equipment instructions should inform the assessment. The enquiry is a coordination brief, not a safe-work permit.
Define the work window
Record the proposed shutdown period, access restrictions, other trades and dependencies. Ask what must happen before the cleaning work can begin and what must be completed before operations restart. Include contingency for findings that cannot be assessed until equipment is accessible.
Put boundaries around the quote
List equipment, surfaces, waste assumptions and exclusions explicitly. Isolations, confined-space activities and specialist investigations require their own qualified planning. Compare proposals against the same responsibility matrix so a lower price does not conceal an unassigned work package.
Agree restart evidence
The final records should show the agreed work and any remaining limitations. Equipment acceptance, product-quality approval and operational restart may belong to separate responsible people. Set those hold points before the shutdown rather than discovering at handback that no one owns a required approval.
The project questions are HAUSE planning prompts. Refer to the responsible authority and qualified provider for requirements that apply to your situation.
