HAUSE FIELD GUIDE · REVIEWED 25 OCTOBER 2026
Establish the coordination point
Nominate a responsible contact and record after-hours escalation arrangements. Identify the owner, strata or condo representative, tenant and insurer contacts who need updates. Keep personal incident details out of broad tenant communications unless there is a clear, appropriate reason to include them.
Map the shared spaces
List affected units, common areas, service risers, access routes and building systems that may need assessment. A contractor’s unit-specific scope may not cover shared infrastructure. Ask how adjacent spaces and movement through the building will be considered before scheduling work.
Control approvals and changes
Keep a dated log of access permissions, estimates, authorisations and variations. Record who can approve costs and who can authorise contents decisions. When a new condition is discovered, make the decision and its effect on programme and scope visible to all responsible parties.
Make the handback legible
Ask for a completion package that identifies work performed, exclusions, open repairs and required follow-up. Agree who can make any return-to-use decision. Archive the final scope and records in the building file so the next manager can distinguish a closed item from an unresolved investigation.
The project questions are HAUSE planning prompts. Refer to the responsible authority and qualified provider for requirements that apply to your situation.
