The final handover

Bring the assessment, cleanup and next trade together.

SCOPE / RECORD / HANDOFF

HAUSE FIELD GUIDE · REVIEWED 25 OCTOBER 2026

01

Start with the agreed scope

Use the signed proposal and approved variations as the handover checklist. Walk through the included areas and record work that remains incomplete or excluded. If conditions changed during the project, ask how the final scope and completion criteria changed with them.

02

Collect the documents

Keep the relevant assessment, laboratory reports, work records, waste documentation and verification together. Ask what limitations apply and whether an authority or independent specialist must make any further decision. HAUSE guidance and planning tools do not certify clearance or occupancy.

03

Separate remaining repairs

Reinstatement, decorating, equipment repairs and source prevention may be separate work packages. Give each open item a responsible person and next action. Avoid letting a clean appearance conceal a building or moisture problem that still needs attention.

04

Plan the follow-up

Record warranty or follow-up terms directly from the provider’s agreement. Ask how recurring conditions should be reported and what records to retain. Close the project file only when the responsible parties understand both the completed work and the remaining obligations.
